Vause Construction is a family-owned construction company based in Whangapoua on the Coromandel Peninsula. Led by Matt Vause, who brings over 20 years of industry experience, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and building lasting relationships with our clients. Our focus is on creating quality spaces that reflect our clients' vision and stand the test of time.
Over 20 years ago I bought a property at Whangapoua where I intended to build my dream house and retire there.
I did not want anybody to build it - I wanted the best local Builder to build my home. I was already familiar with Matt’s work and approached the owners of homes he had built. I heard nothing but good things so it was an easy decision to go with him.
It must have been difficult for Matt to put up with my constant questioning, suggestions and changes, but he never made me feel foolish and actually embraced the challenges I hit him with. At the same time, he made suggestions to me where we could make changes to improve the product and save money.
He has assembled a good team and I’m willing to bet they all stay together a long time from the Apprentices to the seasoned veterans on his crew. All in all I am stoked with the end result and quality of workmanship. If I require the services of a Builder again, which is highly likely, I’m going straight to Matt.

Matt and his team were responsive, communicative and best of all fastidious about their work. The house design required a lot of attention to detail, and builder friends of ours have commented on the workmanship. Our Tairua build was completed on time and within budget. Matt kept us in the loop on all changes of direction and offered a number of cost saving
measures. And the neighbours loved him.
We are thrilled with the finished house.
